MISSION
Our mission is to create dance that inspires critical thought and reasoned discussion, increase access to and appreciation of dance in Queens and throughout the country while working to improve society through performance, community partnerships and service.
VISION
In-Sight Dance Company envisions a world where the creation, utilization and experience of dance is available to all people as a tool for discussion, service and enlightenment. We envision a world where diversity, in art and beyond, is encouraged, where inspiration abounds and where respect for human dignity is demonstrated throughout the community.
In-Sight believes in….
Diversity
Diversity in the make-up of the Company, its staff, its volunteers and its constituents is necessary in order for the Company to reach its full potential.
Diversity in all forms should be appreciated and celebrated!
Dance should be available for all people, no matter their financial status.
Service
Artists, as citizens in our global society, should to improve the community through their art and their actions outside of the theatre and studio.
We are committed to social action through performance, as well as service projects created to enhance the quality of life in the community.
We believe that collaboration makes us stronger and we are dedicated to working with like-minded artists, charities and individuals to improve our society.
Respect for humanity is essential in all that the Company does. This should be demonstrated through the actions of the Company as well as the content it performs.
Inspiration
Inspiration is an important part of the human experience.
We believe dance, as all art, can be a powerful source of inspiration.
Excellence must be a major goal for all involved in the Company. We believe by striving for excellence, in our art and our work outside the theatre, we can inspire those around us to achieve their full potential.
In-Sight Dance Company strives to create work that has emotional, sociological, and/or cultural motivation. The movement and steps do not exist in a vacuum—but rather they provide insight into the meaning of the piece.
