This is...Next Stop...

An abstract ballet in three acts.
Inspiration. Degradation. Elevation.

This is...Next Stop…  is an abstract, evening length work in three acts.  Each act creates a landscape of emotion which explores the themes of inspiration,

elevation and degradation.  The music of local singer songwriters gives the audience a touchstone as they view an abstraction on these themes through dance.

This ballet includes music from pianist and soul singer Rachel Platten’s latest album “Be Here.” Brooklyn’s pop-folk duo The Paper Raincoat offer original hits including “Rough Cut” and Sympathetic Vibrations.”

Local singer-songwriter Josiah Venter’s mission is to “offer this music to create an environment in which peoples from different backgrounds are invited to come together – an environment that helps to knock down the barriers that keep us apart.” His songs “C’Mon” and “Enough to go Around” reflect the values of In-Sight and add a feeling of this mission to the piece.

In-Sight is excited to work with the music of Jerry Fuentes once again by including the songs "What it is," Another life," and "Heal" in this ballet.  Jerry’s newest album, Standing in Line, was released in the Summer for 2012.

“Picture ballet snatched from the proscenium stage and thrown into your lap. This is the sensation that In-Sight Dance Company’s performance of

This Is…Next Stop… first gives…The evening of turns, partnering and occasional pointe shoes really builds up to the third act – the true gem of the show where a more free and quirky side of the company’s movement is revealed. ” - Jennifer Thompson, The
