Mishi is from Memphis, TN where she trained with former Bolshoi soloist Alexei Moskalenko. While earning her B.A. in Psychology at Columbia University, Mishi found many outlets to continue dancing. Mishi served as president of Columbia’s Orchesis Dance Group, while dancing in each of its biannual showcases. She also participated in Barnard College’s Dance Department showcases, where she performed seven original works by prominent New York City choreographers, including Camille A. Brown, Lisa de Ribere, Robert LaFosse and Bill Young. Mishi is thrilled to be back in New York and dancing for In-Sight!
Lina Kent is a native New Yorker, and received her training at Ballet Hispanico on a full
scholarship. During her training she danced with the junior company and studied
at Walnut Hill in Massachusetts. Lina graduated from Dean College with an
Associates in Dance, and while in school performed professionally with Pioneer
Valley Ballet and was a member of the school ballet company. Upon returning to
New York she worked with New American Youth Ballet, performed as a guest artist
with the Jimenez/Black Dance Project, and completed an internship with Broadway
Dance Center. Her current affiliations include performances with Tim Chester
Dance, and MishiDance. She has performed as a company member with The Kennedy Dancers, and has apprenticed with Classical Contemporary Ballet Theatre in Brooklyn. Ms. Kent has most recently
returned from a North Carolina tour where she performed with Kinetic Dance Company, premering their new ballet "The Seasons". Lina is excited to begin her fifth season In-Sight Dance Company, and currently runs their free pre-professional ballet program in collaboration with Beacon 141.
Dora Novak grew up in Des Moines, Iowa where she trained with Beth and Hank Adams at the Central Iowa Dance Youth Ballet. She has also performed with Iowa Dance Theater, where she enjoyed lead roles as Sugar Plum and Snow Queen in The Nutcracker, Marie and Saytr in Dracula, and Snow White in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. While in Iowa, Dora also performed in high school musicals plays, and show choir while experimenting with fashion and textile design.
Dora moved to New York City in 2007 to pursue a BFA at SUNY Purchase, where she was not only able to dance but also to choreograph and serve as wardrobe assistant in the dance department. On campus, she costumed many senior and junior dance project as well as A Mid Summers Nights Dream. Dora is now a dancer and costumer with In-Sight Dance Company in Queens. Recently she has costumed shows at the Ace Hotel and BAM. She is also a costume coordinator for Purchase College Dance Chore and a wardrobe assistant at CedarLake Contemporary Ballet. Dora would like to thank her always overly supportive family Adda, Tesa, Sid, Mom, Paul and the forever young Grandma Helen. Leeanne and the In-Sight family for being amazing! The Himrod sorority for making a house a home. She would also like to thank Mayim Yael and Michelle MacNaught for being the beautiful, strong women they are, I love you both very much.
Cody Potter is a graduate of the Studio Program at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy. He has performed with Haberdasher Theater Company (Actor/Director), Axis Theater Company (Asst. Director), KidStuff kids show (actor), “Footloose” (Actor Off Off Broadway), and with director Ashley Kelly Tata of "Enthuse Theater". Cody is a member of Untitled Collective, Dir. Ian RT Colless. He has also performed with OUI Danse, Dir. Brice Mousset. He is a founding member of In-Sight Dance Co. and feels it a privilege to work alongside artists that give so much of themselves to the work
Shauna Sorensen earned her BFA in Dance Performance from The University at Buffalo. In addition to Insight Dance Company she is a member of LiNK The Movement under the direction of Ginger Cox. With In-Sight and LiNK she has had the opportunity to perform at: SoNo Arts Festival, The Choreographers Canvas, Elian Summer Dance Awards, Jazz Dance Choreography Enterprises, Harkness Dance Center’s “Fridays at Noon”, The National Museum of Dance, and in the Queens Fringe Festival.
